Vortex Spinning

Different yarn spinning techniques have varied impacts on the physical qualities and appearances of yarns and even bring different characteristics to final products. Currently, five practical yarn-spinning techniques, including ring spinning, compact spinning, rotor spinning, air-jet spinning, and vortex spinning, have attracted much attention from textile enterprises. They have unique features whether regarding the output and quality or regarding the forming structure and characteristics.

Characteristics of vortex spinning:

(1) Short processes;

(2) Less labor consumption and saves electricity;

(3) High production efficiency: Its yarn-spinning speed is 25 ~ 30 times that of ring spinning and 3~ 4 times that of rotor spinning;

(4) It has poor variety adaptation and is mainly suitable for cellulose fiber yarns and chemical fiber blended yarns.

(5) It has a narrow range of spinning counts and is currently most suitable for spinning 10ᔆ ~ 60ᔆ.

Chacteristics of vortex spun yarn and fabric:

(1)The vortex spun yarn is smooth and less fibrous, feels more rigid and harder, and has a large fluffy friction coefficient, low strength, low elongation, and high wear resistance.

(2)Vortex spun yarn fabric is smooth, washable, wear-resistant, and resistant to pilling, with good air permeability, easy moisture absorption and quick drying, good warmth retention, bending stiffness, poor draping, and low tear and bursting strength.
